Choice Poem #2 (Picture Poem)- A Sunset's Beauty

Picture
The blue fades as it gets closer to the sun,
Brillant shade of indigo to a faintly visible white.
The sun glistens on to the ocean,
Leaving its mark until the morning.

Clouds only seeable so far,
Then fading off in the distance.
Two towering palm trees, One tall, as if the mother,
One short, as if the child, standing by the coast.

The cerulean sea forms the horizon with the sun.
Calm, lasting as far as you can see, the ocean.
Palm trees' shadows glowing on the green lawn.
The grass, not sand, sitting next to the capacious water mass.

The clouds lit up a rosy pink;
All sizes, all shapes.
Crimson sun, turning the atmosphere different colors,
Gold to yellow, then to white.

Rocks sitting beside the shore,
Implanted, probably never to move again.
A pure, splendid scene of nature's beauty,
reoccuring every evening as the sun rests for the night.

Poetic Elements:

The first poetic element that I used in this poem was visual imagery.  I used visual imagery when I said, " The sun glistens onto the ocean" and when I said, "Rocks sitting beside the shore".  By using imagery, even though the picture is shown to you, I described the picture better.  If there was no picture shown the reader would be able to visualize every aspect of this poem.

The second poetic element that I used in this picture poem was alliteration.  I used alliteration in this poem when I said, " Two Towering palm trees."  I like using alliteration because it makes this poem more fun to read for the reader.
